Neurodevelopmental Disorders: ADHD, Autism, Learning Disorders

We Help You Cope with ADHD, Autism, and Learning Disorders

Neurodevelopmental disorders affect approximately 15% of children and continue into adulthood, including ADHD (6.1% of children), Autism Spectrum Disorder (1 in 36 children), and some learning disorders (5-10% of school children) that disrupt brain development and function.

About Our Treatment for Neurodevelopmental Disorder

Neurodevelopmental disorders are disorders that initiate in the developmental phase and lead to impairment in personal, social, academic, or occupational functioning. At One Stop Mental Health Clinic, we offer evaluation and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity; Autism Spectrum Disorder with differences in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and differences in sensory processing; and learning disorders in reading, writing, or mathematics despite sufficient intelligence and educational facilities.

Our approach to neurodevelopmental disorders combines behavioral methods with medication treatment when necessary. Our team is guided by a board-eligible Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who conducts thorough diagnostic evaluations with standardized assessment measures, developmental history, and clinical observation to differentiate among disorders and the occurrence of co-occurring disorders. Treatment plans incorporate skill acquisition through behavior therapy, social skills training for relating difficulties, school accommodation assistance, and stimulant or non-stimulant medication for ADHD, and anxiety management for commonly co-occurring emotional issues.
